Flight: Concerto for Piccolo

Imagine wonderlust. Imagine racing through forest and air with wild abandon. That feeling is the heart of Flight: Concerto for Piccolo and Chamber Orchestra. Inspired by avian ideals, the piece embodies a birdlike spirit of adventure through soloist Jess Scott.

Now imagine a grand old landscape viewed from far above. Visions: Two landscapes for chamber orchestra, is a mediation on time, light and space, evoking the sweeping, coloured plains of our home country. It's two interlinked movements Bloom and Heavy Light paint the same scenes in different colours.

One night only! July 27th 2024, Joseph Post Auditorium, Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

Help give a platform for two of Australia's brightest emerging talents, Composer/Conductor Rhys Little and Flutist Jessica Scott with two groundbreaking premieres. In partnership with the Conservatorium High School, who are providing the Joseph Post Auditorium.

Your donation will be used to fund the commissions of the new works, and pay all our artists fairly. We are seeking $5,000 in order to pay our chamber orchestra of 15 players for appropriate rehearsal time and the performance. Your donation will make this project possible. $400 covers one musician and a portion of the commissions!
